So excited

Well it's been a while and not much has change in our lives to really write about. Noah growing of course and is crawling, pulling himself into a standing position, and is never quite for a moment (might need to invest in some ear plugs....especially when I know what he is saying) but it's cute.

Anyhow back to what I am excited about.... I got two new cook books in the mail and I can't wait to start using them(yes, I am a geek, I get excited over cookbooks). Well the two I got....well the title says it all.

1. The Sneaky Chef by Missy Chase Lapine (simple strategies for hiding healthy foods in kids' favorite meals)

2. Deceptively Delicious by Jessica Seinfeld (simple secrets to get your kids eating good food)

There was one for husbands too but well Tom eats everything so I didn't bother. I already do things to make my cooking/baking healthier like instead of using oil or margerine or butter I use applesauce in my backing when I can and cut out at least a half cup of flour out and use wheat germ. So these books are going to be great. My sister already told me about two recipes where you put chick peas in cookies and spinach in another chocolate cookie. I can't wait to get started I think I might start today.

At the beach

We went to San Francisco on the weekend and went to Ocean beach. It was quite cold and the wind was really blowing so we took Noah out of the stroller and put him against tom's chest and zip up his jacket over him, it was really cute. We walked up towards a restaurant called Cliff House which is a historical building and has been rebuilt 4 times http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sutro_Baths. I must say the one that stands today is not impressive as the ones that stood there before, also besides the cliff house is the historic ruins of the Sutro Baths http://www.alamedainfo.com/postcards_of_san_francisco_3.htm. I wish I lived back in time when these building were there.

Here are a few of my favorite picture from our weekend.

Noah is now 7 months old

Our 7 months little man has sure grown from the little man we brought home from the hospital, it's so heart breaking at times...where does the time go???? Noah is now sleeping in his new crib that we got last Saturday and seem to be doing fine so far, and he is putting himself down for his naps and at bed time which is great news. He's getting closer and closer "to watch out mom and dad I am mobile", not sure if I am excited about this development when it comes. Noah has eaten peas too (he's not to sure about this eating peas business...Uncle Dan better have not talk to him about vegetables!!!!) and is going to go on to carrots today or tomorrow. Noah almost back to his normal sleeping routine too which I am happy about. We stopped the rice and mixed cereal in the afternoons and night and only do barley whichf has seem to help(better watch out for the sweet potato's and bananas too.)

Well not much else is going on with us. I have all the suit case put away and the Christmas tree is finally down. Now it just tidying up and making more baby food..

It's a new year and a fresh start

Well it's hard to believe that it's 2008, where has the time gone. Well out with old 2007 and in with the new 2008. What will it bring to this Flynn family I surely don't know. But we have many dreams for this year, I just hope I can be patient enough for them to happen.

We had a busy but great time at home. We had lots of good food and probably too much of it(so I won't be baking for a while hahaha)., and lots of great company. Noah was loved by everyone and I wonder if Tom and I would have even been missed if we were there. That's right Noah was the star of the show( the way it should be). It was great fun watching all 9 of Noah's cousins interact with him. Something I will greatly miss watching. We are back home in California and even though we are sad to say good bye to all our family and friends, it sure feels great to be back home. It's something about sleeping in your own bed and room at night, and not living out of a suit case that makes home feel so good. Well it was good to see everyone that we got to see and sorry for the ones we didn't. So many snow days just took it's toll on our plans.

It was great to have snow for the holiday though and get pictures of Noah in the snow. But I don't miss driving in it and we were really happy that it wasn't that cold when we were home. Noah was a great baby on the flight home, the whole crew on the flight said he was the best baby they ever had on the plane, and other passengers that walk by right before landing in San Fran to use the bathroom said they didn't even know there was a baby on the flight. Some of you must think "oh he must have slept the whole way" and well nope, that wasn't the case at all. The little man didn't fall asleep until the wheels touch the ground in San Franc(he had one 40min nap in the airport waiting for our second flight) only to wake up when we put him into the car, little stinker. The whole flight Noah bounced on my lap and flirted with the passengers and the crew on the flight. We are so proud of him.

Well Noah is getting up on his hands and knees more and rocking a little but does a lot of head bobbing, which is funny to watch, I'll try and get it on camera for those who don't know what I mean. Noah is almost back to sleeping well, thank goodness. He went down at 9pm last night and got up at 10 for some food and sleep till 1am and than woke up at 7am. I think he also likes his own room and bed too. Noah loves all his toys that he got from family. He is sleeping with his glow worm, knocks down his building block and plays with his musical dog(well hits it to make sounds). Mom and dad finally went out and bought him a gift too yesterday. It's a big dinosaur that makes some sounds and lights up when you put balls into his back and come out different doorways, and last but not least we order a jolly jumper for him too. With those few toys now we don't have a living room anymore.

6 months.

Here is Noah at 6 months and his first time having rice cereal. He loved it, but we couldn't feed him fast enough. He didn't like the breaks where we had to put more cereal on the spoon, so he got a little upset with us. He still like the boob the best, because there are no breaks. :).

That time of year again

Hard to believe that Christmas is almost here and that Noah is almost 6months old!!! We went to see Santa yesterday, and got up really early today and went to the Santa Clause Parade in San Jose. Noah wasn't to sure about Santa Clause, he just didn't hold me right he said. He didn't cry like many of the other babies before him and after him, but stared at the photographer like a deer in headlights. This weekend has been pretty cold at our place and it's actually colder inside that apartment than it is outside, especially since we have no heat. I am hoping they come tomorrow to fix our heater, right now it's about 10 C inside. brrrrrrr. We have our Christmas tree up now and a few decoration, as well I have started to make my Christmas truffles(hopefully Noah will give me enough time this week to finish all my Christmas baking, cooking and candy making).

Not long till we are home, still a little stress about the long day of traveling., but we will get through it. Noah gets his needles two days before we leave so hopefully he won't be to cranky, he's normally takes a week after needles to get back to his old self. I have to start searching for all our winter gear, looks like I won't have winter boots again since I went out to buy some cheap ones just for the time home but couldn't find any so I picked up a really nice dressy pair of boots...oops LOL. Hopefully on the way home once we land we won't get suck in a snow storm and three snow banks and end up soaked from the waist down, like the last winter that we were home for. Everything else is pretty much the same here with us, so we'll see everyone home in a few weeks.

Turkey Day

It was Thanksgiving on Thursday and a four day weekend. Tom and I decided to host a Thanksgiving dinner on Friday with some friends. I love cooking for people but I always tend to be stressed while cooking but once it's time to sit down and eat, it's so relaxing. It was a really good afternoon and evening with good food, great people and a little bit of wii playing. One thing I need to make sure is to buy a craving knife for the turkey because a bread knife just doesn't cut it when it come to a moist turkey(which I was worried would be dry). We pretty much had all the homemade fixings which was great. As well as my first attempt to make homemade pie crust and apple and pumpkin pie turned out well too, I must say so myself especially since I have never really liked pie, haha. I meant to take a picture of the evening but like always I forgot to get the camera out. Maybe next year, I can't wait till we do it again.

Best Team

Well we know that the Edmonton Oilers are the best hockey team there is. Not like those Toronto Maples Laughs. Noah wishes grampie would come around and join his side of the bench, because then he would be happy as him!!!

Back from Vegas

Well Noah proved to be a good traveler so that was great. We did have to climb from the front seat to the back a few times to talk to him and play a little during the drive but overall he did great. Now lets hope he is good at flying. If he is this Christmas, than I see a Europe trip happening in the spring time!!!!!

So onto our Vegas trip, well we had some good parts and some bad parts which sucked. I'll start off of with all our good moments of the trip. First of all it is always great to get away just the three of us and have no schedule to follow. Noah loved the lights and sounds in Vegas, his little head, arms, and legs were swinging everywhere. You would think he would never get sleepy but as soon as we were up in our room and put him down he was out like a light. It was nice walking though the shopping areas of the casinos and the best of all is walking on the street at looking at the lights. Noah got to meet one of his aunts which made me happy as well. My favorite thing was to watch the fountain show outside the Bellagio. So the down side of our trip was that Tom got the flu on the last day in Vegas so we ended up just staying in the hotel room trying to get him better for the drive home the next day. So it looks like one day we'll have to go back to the smoky City because we only got through half of the strip. There is still at least 4 casinos that I would like to see the inside, plus I would love to go see a show sometimes.

Tom did go down on the casino floor one night while Noah and I got ready for bed, but was back up before long (it's not just the gamblers that love Vegas), but he did come out ahead.

Here are a few of my favorite pictures of our trip.

Another Month Older

Five months today!!! Our little man is growing so much, exciting and sad at the same time. It's exciting because I love seeing all the new steps and skills that he is developing but it's also sad because I love my tiny little bundle that came home from the hospital with us and everyday he gets older the more independent he becomes, they grow up way too fast.

Noah is doing well, he is taking a yoga class with me(we've only been to one so far but we plan on going every Thursday to class). The class was small when we went but he loves to watch the other babies in the class...some are crawling, standing, sitting, others are not mobile at all. On his own he has started going into downward facing dog and it's funny to watch. He hasn't figure out yet to push up on his hands and knees/feet at the same time. So a lot of the time he lays his head on the floor and goes up on his toes, hopefully he learns soon or I for see some carpet burn on the poor boys cheeks. haha. We're pretty sure he is teething now, red gums, fussy and desperate to put something in his mouth to chew on, and well he's still drooling like crazy. Hopefully these few teeth that are bugging him will come in soon. Besides that he is our happy funny little man who is very eiger to move and get into trouble.

Not much new... excited to see my sister

Hello folks not to much to say where as I wrote just the other day. We are all good here in our little place. Not much new is happening. Noah is growing and changing by the second and we(which means I) am starting to get more sleep lately which is nice, hopefully I can catch up on some lack of sleep since January, as I am still pretty tired. But when does parenting not leave you tired haha. Hopefully after I just wrote that it won't jinks me and won't I will be up tonight with the little man. Next week are heading to Las Vegas to see my sister who is down for a conference, I am not really a Vegas person but I am excited to see her and for her to meet Noah. He'll be five months old when she see him. I am also happy to finally to go on a little trip again, I think our last one is well over a year ago, but a little nervous too because it will be Noah first big trip well not as big as christmas trip home will be but long enough. Well that's about it here are some pictures of the little man, who's not so little anymore.
Here one of the latest projects i am trying to work on when Noah lets me. If I get it done in time It will be Noah's Christmas Stocking.

Christmas day for Tom

Well since we are heading home for Christmas this year and we have enough stuff to bring home now that we have Noah, we've decided that if we were going to do presents this year that we wouldn't bring them with us (well we'll shop for stocking stuffer at home but that is pretty much probably going to be it.) Anyhow yesterday I watched Tom run around like a 5 year old on Christmas day!!! I must say it was the greatest thing to watch and made me feel really good that he was that excited about everything. This is what Tom got for Christmas this year. As for me I haven't gotten my gift yet but Tom is getting me a Camera lens for my new camera which I can't wait for!!!! I am hoping to have it before we come home in December, crossing my fingers. I must say his gift is a lot of fun. We were up till 1am playing the wii. Good thing the time went back an hour last night.

Earth quake news......Noah wants to trick or treat with you.

So before Noah begins his trick or treat with you. We have to tell you that last night when we were carving our jack-o-lanterns we have felt our first earth quake and I can say I don't ever want to feel that again. At first I thought Dad and Noah were running up and down the hall and coming towards me or that it was our neighbours kid running in their place(got to love the thin walls). I yelled to Tom to ask what they were doing b/c he was in the other room watching hockey. When he yelled to me earth quake, now I mind you this all happen in a span of 10mins. So we ran to the door and stood in the door frame and met our across the pathway neighbours who were standing in their front door. Anyhow to make this story shorter, it was a 5.6 at it origin was a bit aways away but enough to shake us up and one picture frame fell off the bookcase. All I can say if a bigger one comes or a lot more I am moving.

Anyhow here are our jack-o-lanterns. I helped Noah carve his the little boo pumpkin, Daddy made the dead jack-o-lantern with the tongue sticking out and mommy made the pirate jack-o-lantern. Now tonight we get to roast some pumpkin seeds... yummy.

Well here is Noah in his first Halloween outfit that daddy bought him.
Here is Noah off to see daddy at work, to go trick or treating. Lots of tricks were done...no treating!

Our family

Well it's a little late but we got these take back in September when Noah was 3 months and 6 days old , so I thought I would share them with you.
