Happy New Years!!!

Wow where has the year gone I have no idea. I can't believe this is the last day of 2009, craziness. I have to say we had a pretty good 2009, of course it's had it's ups and downs but what year doesn't. I am just hoping that where I sort of feel 2009 has end on a down for me that it means 2010 will come in with a bang of goodness. I would love to say that Tom and I are doing something exciting to bring in the new year like a lot of people we know but we aren't. We are going to stay home with the boys. We will do the tradition that my family has done for yrs of ordering in Chinese food and than watch the fire works on tv and maybe play a board game if Tom is not working from home later. Here is to the 2010 and I hope ours and all of yours dreams come true in the new year and may it be blessed to the fullest.

Happy New Years!!!!

Christmas day

Well we pretty much had a great christmas got to talk to most of our family and even a few viedo chats but if there is more than a few people in them it's very hard to hear or even get a response to questions. It was pretty funny at times b/c we would ask something to the flynn clan and no one would respond haha, made it amusing on our end at least. The boys torn open their stocking and I thought I had the video recording but something happend and it didn't which made me really sad that we didn't get to catch that moment. Jonas came running out and actually grabed his stocking(not sure if it was just a fluke or what but out of 4 he grabed the right and than start running at the tree and grabbing more present and bringing them back to daddy, it was really cute. We took a few breaks opening present b/c they were just so overwhelmed. I also forgot to take pictures of the boys in front of the tree b/c Jonas running at the presents through me off, so that made me a little sad we didn't get a picture but I have the memories I guess. They seem to love all their toys. I have built and play with more trains, sang many songs with noah playing his ukulele which santa brought him(he even slept with it). Jonas got a truck which he can ride and pull so he's in love with that too. We have very happy boys that morning till noon, Jonas wouldn't stay asleep and both boys were still so over the moon that the wouldn't slee p, making dinner not so enjoy able and the turkey ended up being a dry bird, and tom thinks he didn't like the brand of bird I got(can't be choose when you forget to get one and almost didn't have one). Oh well first time ever out of 5-6 birds that didn't turn out right, still makes me a little sad though. However we had a completely PJ day as a family and just played and for me ate too much candy where I found some quality chocolates(they don't sell them down here but I found one little store that imports some UK chocolate!!!!!) So over all even with little blimps here and there, Christmas day was nice. Not sure what is on the go today. Most ppl are out shopping for the deals but I really don't feel like shopping or gragging the kids out, especially since Jonas woke up with a fever and was gagging luckly he didn't get sick. I think it's just because of the verylong day yesterday. We have a dinner thing to go to but we'll see on how he is feeling if we go or not. Well I hope you all are having a good holiday.

Happy Birthday Jonas

Our little man is one...that is so hard to believe but it's true. Where did the yr go, I have no clue but I miss it already, even though I do love to see my boys grow I also wish I could hang on to their little snuggly bodies, toothless grins etc. We celebrated Jonas first birthday today and thought you'd all enjoy to see some pictures of our big man.

Is it really the holiday season already...?

Christmas is my favorite season/holiday everything....I love it and look forward to it every yr. Just thinking about it normally puts a smile on my face...However this yr not so much. I can't see to relax...my christmas music isn't working for me either. First yr I don't have my shopping done(I had both kids with me today trying to pick things up and ugh I was lucky I got through two stores but barely). I have so much more to do too and I have no disire to go out there and do it. I normally love going out and just walking around and looking at the decoration etc too....my tree still only has lights on it and sort of garlen on it(Jonas keeps pulling it off). I don't know something is just sort of off this yr with me and it truly sucks big time... Hopefully Christmas day will make me feel better. Both boys are really excited even Jonas(he feeds off of Noah a lot). However he also acts so much older than almost one, everyone looks at his size and things he's younger but if he out and playing or running everyone thinks he older. His vocabulary and sounds is growing by the day. He also can get Noah going pretty go(you think it would be the other way around). So I am hoping whatever is missing at this moment will find me on Christmas day. I still have to sew Jonas stocking together, hopefully this week. I have some Christmas chocolates started but no wheres in the mood to finish them. ...ugh this does not feel like Christmas at all.

Jonas's birthday in Friday. I think we are just having a Wesley and Sier(their friends) over for dinner and cake on Saturday. Where did my little boy go.

Well I got to wrap some of the kids stuff so they don't find it. hope you all had a good weekend.

some video's of the kids

Thought you all would enjoy some video's of the kids.

Jonas is using up his last bit of energy before bed, and not the best on of Noah's sing abilities(he can actually sing almost the whole song) since he was distracted with the hockey game on. He was being silly and singing while he put some toys in his pj's so the bell sound is from some of the toys down in leg of his pj. enjoy

Thanksgiving

is today down here and we decide to save the turkey for Christmas. I was not going to cook two in 30 days. I did make a pumpkin pie this morning though and I can't wait to eat it. This is pretty much the last long weekend, vacation and maybe weekend for us to really enjoy. Tom's last day at work was yesterday and his first day at work will be Monday. There are going to be some long hours over the next two yrs and no vacation days but just the normal holiday days which in the high tech world and especially in the start up world too aren't to many. I just hope Tom really will enjoy this work, I need a happy man coming home to us. Well hope everyone having a good day I got to run b/c I don't want to waste the time I have with all my boys on here. Happy American Thanksgiving, our tree is going up this weekend I can't wait. Hello Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Change is here

I wrote awhile ago of change and it can finally be public now that Tom gave his notice at work on friday. That is right Tom is leaving Alcatel, a job he has almost been there for 10yrs. He will be joining a start up company here at the end of November. I believe his first day at the new place will be November 30th. We are excited and nervous at the same time but feel it is the right for all of us. Lots of changes are going to happen so that we can make this workout.

Besides that we are fighting off colds here, and we are winning that battle so far. Hopefully the colds will stay mild. Hard to believe Jonas is going to be one next month not sure where the yrs are going sort of scary in lots of way, but exciting too.

Jonas is walking like a camp now and is getting into more stuff if that was possible. Noah growing into a little boy and surprise me all the time with his development.

My big goal is to give up or limit my sugar in take try to continue to eat better. I find on stressful days all I want is chocolate and after eating the boys halloween candy I think it's time get some control I once had and get up early to get the boys ready so we can get us to exercise class. I have still been slacking since we return to California...I hate when I get out of my routines b/c it's hard to get back into them. So on that note it's time to get my lazy bum up and tidy the place and I would take the boys out but do to our colds I think I'll make some play doh for them.

To Pass the time

So what does one do when you are lazy and are so releaved that you got both kids to bed at 6:30, and your other half is extremely busy and out of sight. Well you decide to make a joke between a friend come ture. Yup, that is just what I did. My friend is leaves for Hawaii at the end of the week and I pleaded for her to take me(doesn't look like we'll be taking a vacation this yr :( ). I said I would go in a suit case so she wouldn't have to pay for a ticket. She told me sure and if I actually fit in the suit case to take a picture for her. So here you go Lara....not that she reads this blog(I don't share this site with everyone I know), but did post the pics on fb for her to see them. I do know I am crazy no worries, but it gave her a good laugh and well laughter makes for a healthy life.

Happy Halloween

We had a great Halloween and the boys and their friend Wesley had a blast. We went to a friends neighbour hood for trick or treating and just took the kids up and down the street. They were good at saying Trick or Treat and of course Thank You at the end, as well as throwing a Good Bye too.

The wind is blowing

So things are changing all the time around us and that use to bug me a lot, I use to strongly dislike change. However now a days I welcome it, and even sometimes want it. I feel the wind blowing again around us and wonder what changes and when lately. Not knowing though drives me nuts, I like to know with rough dates when thing change or know for certain that there will be a change. But the uncertainty of it, and will it happen, and when if at all is still a strong dislike of my. aaaaahhhh I feel my blood pressure rise.

I am also really excited for two more babies coming into our family early next year on the Flynn's side. It only sadness me that we live so far away when the two baby boys arrive. I am not sure when or if we'll make it home next yr so that makes me even sadder. Congrats Trev&Sarah on expecting your 3rd, and Congrats to Dan and Geneveieve on expecting their 1st!!!!

It seem winter hasn't quite made up his mind if he wants to be here or not and well Fall for that matter hasn't either. One day I am in pants and a t-shirt and the next day I am in shorts...it's driving me crazy and than one day winter comes too and dumps a lot of rain on us....come on will one season just make up his/her mind and stay. I am not good at layering for weather anymore.

I have been cranky lately and most part I think is because my exercising(which I use as therapy) has fallen through the cracks lately. There is always something that happens and I can't go to my class and with Jonas teeth coming in(will they hurry up already and break through...I am not talking about all but it would be nice if they all did but just at the moment his two front top teeth.) so I am exhausted and just can't seem to do my 9 or 10pm run like I was. As well ppl are just annoying me lately...some time I just think really, like really come on, take care of your responsibilities... Anyhow there are lots of things I could rant about but I am not going to...it slips out from time to time but I try not to rant or complain especially not on here and I have already had some slips on the in this post too so I am done, that is it no more rants.

So anyhow we are all doing good. Not much excitement. I have to find costumes for the boys really fast, not sure how I let the time slipped by, I wanted to make them but I just have no time where I can sit and make them....yesterday I didn't get any tidying up done b/c I was on the floor playing with the boys and try to make Jonas happy...again teeth. Jonas also wants to hold your hands all the time and walk or he holds on to the back of my pants and walks behind me. Well I think that a good update of things here, Tom's at a computer things his evening and the boys are in bed so I need to get some stuff done b/c I have so many errands to run tomorrow that I am not looking forward drag the boys all day around town.

Anyhow night all.

Dinner

I didn't get back on Here to write about our dinner last friday. Really all I can says it was amazing. I had the best company with me and the food was wonderful, I am glad I am open to trying things, things that I would normally say no to or thought I would never try. Anyhow I ate it all and I have to say even if I didn't care much for it, it was amazingly cooked, presented. Very small portion which I love but it was also like a 13 course meal too, with wine paring to each course so I was very full. So yummy and if I was rich it would probably one of my favorite restaurants too.

Sorry got to run!!!

Thursday, October 01, 2009

Ahhhh It's October...and loving it.

This week has sort of gone fast but slow if that makes since. The worst part is it's going to be a 12day week for us....I hate 12day weeks. Tom has some work stuff going on to this weekend all day sat, and sun....so no weekend for us, :(. Had to complain sorry...I just look forward to our weekend when we are all together...the good thing is the next weekend will be here before we know it!!! Got to love how time flies.

So It's October I love this month. It's almost Fall my favorite season, the month I married(I wouldn't have chosen any other month in the yr) my best friend, the love of my life and the father of my children....This is truly the best month. The leaves are changing too. And I can't wait to go back to the farms with the boys to pick out pumpkins etc. The most exciting part too is that I manage to get a friend to babysit for us(that doesn't happen often at all, it's actually the 3rd time out since Noah was born) on friday so we can go out for dinner. So once I get the kids in bed and my friend arrives and we'll head out to an adult restaurant (not a family or kid restaurant!!!!). I made the reservation on Monday at a French restaurant that Tom and I have been trying to go to for the last 5yrs but haven't been able to. I am excited b/c it's a small restaurant that actual got a stars in the michelin guide... and did I mention that it will be just the two of us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am wishing for cooler weather too and actually wore pants for the second time this morning, but will have to put short on later this afternoon. I am tired of shorts and t-shirts, sadly to say. I am also liking it that it's getting dark early. I love the day light but I also love night time and quietness of it and for some reason I find it relaxing....plus the boys love seeing lights lighting up the streets etc.

Well an update on us.
-Jonas is walking with our fingers
-Jonas is eating lots of food, even food Noah didn't have for months later due to the help of Noah sharing....Yup Noah gave Jonas a piece of his grill cheese, good thing Jonas has been eating cheese and toast for a while now. Have to keep my eye on him when I give him(noah) a pb sandwich.
-Hard to believe we have a birthday in just a little over 2 months. eeekkk

-Noah might get a hair cut(trim really)soon.
-Noah is very excited for Christmas and asked me everyday if we can put the tree up with lights.(takes after mom on this one) He's been sing Jingle bells for about 3 wks now.
-Noah going trick or treating with is best friend this yr(got to figure our what he's going to be yet).
-Took Noah bowling too last weekend, he wasn't sure of it at first but got into it after a bit and loved it. They even had little shoes for him too, it was cute.

Well got to clean and stuff while Jonas is sleeping. Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

Weekends

...are the best I have to say. It's a time for family. This weekend I am of hope that we are going to go hiking(fist of the yr...so sad...we were hike last February). I am going to head out and look for another hiking backpack for the boys(we have one my bother gave me). Last hike was when I was pregnant with Jonas(just as the sickness started so quite early) and we had to cut our last day in Yosemite National park a day early, because I couldn't stop puking. I am also on the hunt for a bike seats for the kids so we can go biking soon(Jonas has to be big enough and neck strong enough to support the weight of a helmet(think he is almost there)). So much I want to do and it's all about the outside.

Next weekend Tom booked a get away at Lake Tahoe. So so excited for that it would be a little nice if it was just the two of us but oh well us Flynn's travel as a family like, peas in a pod :). Anyhow hopefully all next weekend is full of hiking, swimming and even some bowling(there's a bowling ally near where we are staying).

that is it for now. weekends are the best.

Looking forward to the long weekend.

So I know I am weird and all. I have excepted that years ago...I am just glad I found someone crazy enough to marry me...he has to be, he did marry me.

So I love the quiteness and layed back of our life so much. But than after our crazy wonderful trip home I always get down...I miss our families and I miss them interacting with our children. I have to say that I always cry when leaving(none of you probably know that but it's true), leaving is hard. However I do always like coming back to our home and our routine of things here in California. It's the driving and trying to fit everyone in when we are home that stresses me out...(yes I am aware that I do it to myself). I also feel bad that we didn't see a single friend when were home. This really sucked b/c some of them have purchase a house and other have had babies which we haven't seen or meant(this makes me sad and makes me feel like a bad friend).

Some of my highlights of our trip home.
1. being with family
2. Watching all the cousins play
3. got a Townsend family photo and spend an evening together.
4. had both boys in the Atlantic Ocean
5. Having everyone meet Jonas
6. Jonas baptism
7.Got to workout with my Sister
8.Watch Uncle Dan and Andrew play the guitar for the boys

Miss you all very much.

Yesterday we were walking down our main street after dinner(took the boys out for pizza) and saw many restaurants that we've been wanting to try but sadly can't. I watched couple sipping wine, talking and there was a longing inside for that again. I miss going out to dinner/drinks/walks with Tom. Just having a quite meal and talking with out distraction or kids or work etc. But than there were small arms wrapped around my neck and a I love you mommy that melted that longing away for the time being because I know it will be back. I don't get upset about it though b/c I wouldn't give up my children for any of it and I rather have life this way than not having it or not having them at all.

Well today is sort of a lonely day and I am so looking forward to the weekend to have Tom home with me. We have no plans like normal, and I am not sure if we'll go out anywhere were I am still working on potty training. but we'll see. Noah did use the potty at the pizza place once, had an accident before we left but the fact is he did use it there. He was so proud and he told everyone. LOL

well I got to run time to tidy up some before Jonas wakes up.

Tuesday, September 01, 2009

few seconds maybe...

that I have to write on here. Things are still upside down here but oh well that is how life is, full of unexpected twist and turns and the occasional(or many depending who you are....I tend to have many haha) bumps in the journey of life. Some times I wish thing were simpler in life but than I think if everything was simple, would you one be great full? So I tried to ride out the bumps and make the best of them as much as I can.

As for our flight back to California it went as good as it could have since we woke up to Noah puking in his bed and Jonas having a fever. I am blessed that my children are good on flights though (no one has ever hated us on a plane!!!!). I only had one bad experience for a little bit(Noah cried for 35min than puked on me and than fell asleep) when I flew home alone last October but everyone was great around me and said they had kids and they didn't care, one girl I was sitting with was actually pregnant too, with her 4th so not to worry it doesn't bug her.

We are slowly getting back on track and Jonas is sleeping so much better now that his fever is gone and oh yes the last two days he broke out in a rash(different from the heat rash he had the whole time we were home) I think somewhere a long the way he picked up roseola. He also has 2 teeth too. Our vacation really set us back on the potty training but I am happy to report it looks like as of today we are back on track and further along, where Noah has more than 50% of the time taken himself to the potty and gone. I hope it continues to to get better and better. I have to say that Potty training is not my specialty. I have lots of patience with the kids and Noah is a quick kid to pick up things but potty training just wears me out and I have trouble juggling everything that needs to be done and watch him like a hawk. I would have loved to pay someone to do this step in life but I wanted to be a mom so with that come potty training responsibilities too. I am still exhausted from our trip and trying to catch up with everything here, so hopefully by next week things will be in order.

I was hoping to take Tom out for his birthday but since our flight mess that up and all my possible favors have been used since the birth of Jonas, and an extra one had to be taken do to our delayed return home(one of my friends was stopping by to feed bella). It looks like yet another yr will pass before I can do what I wanted to do 3 birthdays ago for him. Sort of bummed out, well actually really bummed out but oh well that is just another blip in our journey.

Got to run and join in our pot and pan band that is going on and than get some dinner ready.
